I am a 24 year old living in Fort Collins, Colorado and attending a community college in hopes of transferring to a university in the future. I want to study web design and maybe even some programming, but web design is really my true love. I've been interested in making my own web sites ever since I was introduced to the internet (which actually wasn't until I got into high school since my family didn't have a computer until I got to college!) which then led to some experiments with free website hosts such as Geocities and Bravenet... At that point I only knew basic HTML, and didn't tend to apply it much since I used the pagebuilders. Soon afterward, I kind of just dropped the idea of web design for a few years, only messing around with free sites every now and then. I got into college to major in Graphic Design, so I continued to improve my graphic and layout skills, and for a while I concentrated on creating layouts for blogs, so I did learn a bit of CSS that way.

However, I didn't seriously begin learning to code from scratch until after I had purchased my first domain in June 2007. I felt that I should have my own website in order to display an online portfolio, which you are now looking at, and I really wanted to learn how to make something completely from scratch, and so I bought a book called “CSS For Dummies” and the rest is history!

It's been about two years since I've been seriously designing web sites and I'm rather proud of the progress I've made. I love learning and implementing new tricks and techniques as well as fancy-shmancy scripts, and I look forward to learning much more in the years to come. It's fun!
